Animal Rescue

There are literally thousands of animals out there that need help. Everyday, rescue workers are out answering calls to places where animals are locked up, chained up, and starving. One negligent owner had two hundred animals, all locked in cages with no food or water available to them. Most were rescued by C.A.R.E., but some were already dead. The live animals were so skinny that all the outlines of their bones were clearly visible.

There are some rescues that are of no fault to anyone. Animals get themselves into all kinds of trouble. The environment is not always safe for them. One family had a long-haired dachshund named Sammy that loved to run off into a large field behind their house. One day, he did not come home. The husband and wife went to look for him, knowing that he liked to chase groundhogs.

They could not believe the amount of groundhog holes they found in the field. Yelling into each hole, they could not hear anything in return. The husband got a hose and listened with that. After much searching, he finally heard a faint cry. He could tell that it was a cry from far into the groundhog hole. Retrieving tools, they began to dig, digging a little bit behind where Sammy was so they would not hurt him.

The ground was very wet and muddy at the time. Finally reaching the poor dog, they found him stuck tight. His fur was so thick with mud that he could not budge. They were overjoyed that they were able to rescue their little family member.
