Health Miracles

Stories of true miracles are times when the unexplainable happens. Some say that God has a hand in these remarkable incidences; some say that they are the acts of unpredictable science. Never the less, they are truly astonishing.

Jon and Karen Lander were shopping with their two week old son Woody. Karen noticed that his complexion was a strange color, and they decided to take him to the emergency room. Soon after their arrival, Woody suffered a heart attack. Doctors and nurses worked on him for 30 minutes before they finally pronounced him dead. They brought his parents in to him to say their goodbyes. As the nurse handed him to his father, the little boy suddenly coughed and began to move. The nurses immediately grabbed him as Woody’s heart began to beat, and he started breathing. He was sent home three weeks later after open heart surgery. At age 18 months, Woody suffers no ill effects of the ordeal.

In April 2003, Lynette Ankeny woke to hear her husband Jeff breathing funny. When she tried to wake him, he would not respond. He was rushed to the hospital. Lynette was told that her husband had suffered septic shock. He had multi-system organ failure with acute renal and respiratory failure. He was on complete life support and in a coma. The doctors kept Jeff alive so that his family could come and say goodbye. On the fifth day, as a cousin sat beside him praying, Jeff woke up. He was totally disorientated and did not know what had happened. The next day, he was taken off life support and went home five days later. Although he has suffered some muscle damage and is undergoing physical therapy, he is well aware of his miraculous recovery.
