It is a miracle that some people actually do win the lottery. In 2008, in the state of Pennsylvania, there were several large prizes won. These amounts were: $30.2 million, $42.5 million, $2 million, $60,000, $50,000, $500,000, $250,000 and $1 million. As well, 14 people shared $200,000 and six shared $200,000.
It is shattering to hear some winners say that they wish they had never won. William Post won $16.2 million in 1988 and helped siblings start two businesses, but it did not improve their relationships. One year later, he was $1 million in debt. Ken Proxmire had a good ride for three to four years with his $1 million win. Willie Hurt spent his $3.1 million on divorce and cocaine. Janite Lee won $18 million in 1993, and eight years later had $700 left.
However, there are wonderful miracles happening to lottery winners. Howard Hodder of Lancaster, PA was given a birthday gift of a ticket, which turned into $100,000 dollars. Another man used his $35,000 to build a shop/garage to house his business. A winning family had $4.2 million to pay off debts and move to a huge house. Mick Maplesden spent his $4 million to help his family and community.
A winning definition of money is that it can give you anything you want except happiness and take you anywhere you want to go except to heaven. A lottery winner said that if you are a fearful person before you win, you will be a more fearful person after winning. Money will not make your character but it will reveal it.
