Some of the medical miracles you read about are like seeing “Ripley’s Believe It Or Not.” When you read about them, it leaves you in total awe. After being in a car accident which separated Jordon Taylor’s head from his vertebrae, he had a one percent chance of survival. There was no connection between his neck and his head, which is called orthopedic decapitation. Dr. Roberts connected Jordon’s head to his neck with a metal plate, screws and a titanium rod. Three months later, Jordon is back in school. Prayers from all the churches and others brought him through, his parents said.
There’s also the tale of a blind man regaining his sight after a tooth implant. After an accident more than 10 years ago, Martin Jones, a 42-year-old builder, was left blind. An operation which implants a tooth in his eye and places a new lens in it is then performed. This is a procedure that has been performed less than 50 times. The Sussex Eye Clinic in Brighton performed the delicate surgery and he was finally able to see his wife after being married for over four years. A mother in England was told one of her children would have to be terminated so the other could live. Joined together by blood vessels, it’s called TTTS (twin-to-twin syndrome) and so the choice was made. During the surgery, doctors at the Swedish Medical Center performed laser surgery and two healthy twins were born one month later to Shannon & Mike Gimble.
