Animals Saved Through Miracles

There are special bonds that one forms with pets. Whether a pet dog, a pet cat, a turtle, or a fish, there is this special feeling that tells you they are there for you and which can never be beaten. They are companions when you are lonely. They give, never wanting anything else in return. They fill the gaps and the tiny holes in our lives that we often don't even notice until a pet becomes a companion.

There have been many instances, though, where animals have been disowned, left in the lurch by owners who either were too busy to take care of them or too poor to pay for them. Animal rescuers come to call at that point in time. On one occasion while the rescue efforts after the recent storm Katrina were going on, a pony was found after about a fortnight of being on her own. She was badly bruised, with a pit bull to blame. The vets were already full, but the pony’s determination, which kept her alive for so many days, put them in awe of her. They took up the case. Her leg had to be amputated and she was fitted with a prosthetic leg.

There are many examples of such rescues which were nothing short of miracles. In times of natural calamities, more than the people who have been hurt and left homeless and in need, animals come out as sufferers. Cases like these makes one wonder about miracles involving animals.
